ALEXANDER NEMIROV
a cappella singer, choirmaster, and composer
Born in the Soviet Union (Kursk, 1970). At the age of four, he began learning guitar under his father’s guidance, and at eight, he performed in public in a concert hall.
From 1979 to 1986, he attended music school (violin). From 1986 to 1990, he continued his education at the Kursk College of Music in the string instruments department (violin). In 1987, together with flautist Alexander Bocharov, he founded the acoustic music group «Arventur,» for which he composed music and lyrics. He subsequently began performing under his eponymous stage name.
From 1991 to 1996, he studied choral conducting at the Astrakhan State Conservatory. During his studies, he worked in the male choir of the regional philharmonic society and the city chamber choir «Lik» (directed by S. Komyakov). He also participated in the concert life of the Astrakhan rock band «Chelovechesky Golos» (Human Voice), and regularly performed his own compositions.
After graduating from the conservatory, he worked as a senior lecturer in choral studies at Kursk State University (Department of Music and Fine Arts) and in the choirmaster’s department of the Kursk Theological Seminary. During these years, he directed the student choral ensemble «Cantus» of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Kursk State University (1996-2000), which won numerous youth competitions.
From 2000 to 2008, he actively performed as a baritone in the vocal ensemble «St. Petersburger Vokalsolisten,» and since 2003, he has served as the artistic director and organizer of the ensemble’s international tours. He produced four studio albums for the ensemble: «In a Russian City…/Dans une ville russe…» (2003), «Von Herz zu Herz» (2005), «Ein Blick zurück» (2006), and «Trio» (2007).
In 2003, he moved to Moscow and worked with the A. A. Yurlov State Academic Choir of Russia. He participated in concerts with the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir under the direction of Vladimir Minin, as well as in projects with many world-renowned musicians (Andrea Bocelli, Ennio Morricone, Vangelis, Vladimir Kosma, and others). He performed at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi.
In 2010, he founded the vocal ensemble of Moscow soloists, The Moscow Singers, with which he presented a concert program of early Western European music to Moscow audiences (choirmaster D. Klyuev).
In 2011, he participated in the creation of the CD «Let’s Shout with Love!» by the choir of the Patriarchal Metochion of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Moscow as a performer and record producer (sound engineer A. Fitisenko).
In 2016, he retired from state choral ensembles and began pursuing his own musical projects.
From 2017 to 2024, he underwent a period of creative experimentation, performing one-off performances and working as a session musician in recording studios.
From 2025 to the present, he entered a new stage in his creative work.
